VIDEO: Spears 'extremely upset' over media coverage bites back
BRITNEY Spears' promoter says the star is "extremely upset" at her savaging for lip-synching and over allegations that Perth fans walked out on her.
Paul Dainty said that the star had been left traumatised by the media coverage which suggested fans stormed out of her Circus tour performances at Perth's Burswood Dome on Friday, due mainly to the fact that she was miming during segments of the two-hour show.
"Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it," Dainty told The Australian.
"She's a human being. I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting."
Yesterday, words such as beat, up, embarrassed and fabrication were used by the veteran tour promoter to describe the media coverage.
"It's the biggest lie I've ever heard," Dainty said.
"I'm so angry. We can take heat if there's something wrong and people can review shows badly -- that's something you have to live with -- but to say people stormed out of the show was an absolute fabrication."
Dainty was responding to reports that fans, some of whom had paid up to $1500 for tickets, left as early as the third song due to Spears' "lacklustre" performance.
Spears' publicity released an extensive cut-and-paste email to media immediately after her concert documenting positive reviews posted by fans on twitter and britneyspears.com in an effort to counteract the negative reports.
A Burswood dome spokesperson released the following statement:
"Last night's concert (Friday) saw record crowds turn out for her first performance in Perth and from Burswood's perspective the event was a huge success.
"Early media reports that hundreds of fans left the concert early cannot be substantiated and Burswood has received no complaints about the concert."
Spears' manager Adam Leber also took to Spears' Twitter account to appeal to her 3.7 million followers, biting back at the savaging for her performance.
"Its unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn't enjoy the show last night. Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did. - Adam" he wrote.
Thousands of Perth fans have flooded Spears' personal website and Twitter to congratulate her on her comeback, describing the Burswood Dome performances last week as "amazing," "awesome" and "brilliant."
The singer will perform shows in Melbourne on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week at Rod Laver Arena, before flying to Sydney.
The 14-concert Australian tour wraps up in Adelaide on November 29.

Email this postDoes "3" Have What It Takes For a UK Number One On Itunes? It's Up To How Agressive Fans Are
Britney's new single "3" was released on iTunes this Sunday in the UK. Currently sitting at #9 on the iTunes Top 100 songs, "3" will have some fierce competitors.
X-Factor (United Kingdom's equivalent to American Idol) has musical guests on the show to perform every week. Usually every guest makes it into the top 10 songs on iTunes. Leona Lewis (currently sitting @ #2) and The Black Eyed Peas (currently sitting @ #3) performed this Sunday night at the elimination show. JLS, a boy band that competed in last years X-Factor, are number one on the iTunes chart and have also recently performed on the show.
"3"s ratings stand strong at 4.5 stars as of now and Britney has entered the iTunes Top 10, but does she have what it takes to get to number one? Some help from Britney's JIVE blogger BRITannica could help encourage others to buy the single.
On the BBC Radio 1, "3" has entered the A-List. Also, the UK has released a commercial to support the single (in an earlier post).

Email this postSame Video Concepts For Gaga & Britney
It's a battle between "3" and "Bad Romance"!!!!!
On Saturday November 7th, a 30-second clip of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" video was added to the worldwide web. When comparing the closeup shots in Gaga's video to the ones in Britney's video, the resemblance is quite uncanny. Both pop divas don the innocent, yet sultry look. Also, they both have their hands spread throughout their blonde locks, have simple, subtle makeup, and capture viewers with a spark in their eyes.
Make the judgement for yourself when Gaga's new video premieres on her official website Monday November 9th. Do they look similar? Is there a meaning? Or is it just the way they shoot videos nowadays?
