The runaway success of Lady Gaga’s new single “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé, which currently sits atop the Billboard Pop Songs chart, must have Britney Spears kicking herself and Gaga feeling just a little smug.

Gaga originally wrote her track “Telephone” for Spears, but when the “Oops…I Did it Again” hitmaker rejected the song, she decided to record it herself and recruited Beyoncé to help give it the added superstar treatment.

"I wrote it for her (Britney) a long time ago,” the “Bad Romance” hitmaker told Jam, “and she just didn't use it for her album - it's fine because I love the song and I get to perform it now."

Not only has “Telephone” placed Spears’ competitors at No 1 on the charts, but the song has put Gaga and Beyoncé in a tie with Mariah Carey for most ever No 1 songs on the Billboard Pop Songs, catapulting the 2 rival pop divas ahead of…..you guessed it….Britney Spears as well as Avril Lavigne, Pink, and Justin Timberlake who each have five No. 1s.

Rumours started circulating very rapidly today (March 17) that Britney Spears and her agent/boyfriend Jason Trawick had broken up.
However, the duo were quick to prove that they are, in fact, still going strong as they shopped hand in hand in Beverly Hills, CA.

After they finished up their retail binge, the lovebirds drove to Studio City, CA where they stopped at Party City for some purchases, including a whack headband crown for Britney which she proudly wore out of the store.

Jason acted like quite the gentleman to Ms. Spears as he was sure to open her car door for her and hold her hand every chance he got!

Brit Brit! Are you single or not?!

We reported earlier that Britney Spears and her boyfriend Jason Trawick have called it quits on their romance with McDonalds, but now sources are coming forward claiming that their relationship is more tangled than girlfriend's old weave!!

Despite hearing that they've been over since February, the couple was spotted this past weekend at the Mondarian hotel and at the pop star's home!

Sources say:

"They are on and off. Most everyone else abandoned her, but Jason refused to be completely cut out of Britney's life. He's very protective of her."

We hope they figure out what they want!

The going back and forth when you're in a dying relationship is the worst!!

Britney is single and all alone now and single again (happens every time she is away from Jason for more than 2 weeks), she isn't looking like she should be (she needs to get a stylist because everyone else cares way too much about her appearance), she has gone back to her partying ways, and she is imprisoned by her parents (narcissistic mother and 30 yr. alcoholic father) in a conservatorship in which a caring friend, super-manipulative Sam Lutfi wants to help her gain back her freedom and...And..AND...ANDDDDDD isn't desperate in the least to get back in her life and start doing so.  The man is basically drooling about manipulating Britney again...you can see it in his eyes.

All a big crock of B.S. if you ask me, but of course, it will take an eternity to find the truth in all these matters.
